Hi all! Hope that you are doing well!

Today I would like to share with you a card that I made a few weeks back using the Sweet Briar Papers.......aren't these papers just divine! I love these colours together....out of the papers I went for the greens and turquoises mainly, but there is a hint of the orange in there too :o)

As usual I have printed the papers out on 160gsm Text and Graphic paper, but before hand I re-sized them in Photoshop to get them down to 6x6 size.

The image I have used is by Magnolia Stamps of Sweden, and I have coloured it in using Prismacolor Pencils.

Winter Solitude

I've been absent the last month or so; end of the year is crazy busy at work and around the house!

I'm back into my scrapping now, however, (Yay!) and snatched Winter Solitude as soon as I saw it! I love the colors in this kit which perfectly capture the breathless hush of winter.
Although I used it for Christmas pics, really- it's perfect for all kinds of winter memories!

I did a challenge at ScrapbookChallenges.com this weekend that was to take one of our older pages, that we loved at the time, and re-vamp it in our current style. Being that my current style usually involves a Raspberry Road kit of some sort, I thought it only fitting to use Beach Bliss, one of the older kits from RRD, on this page.

I love it so much, I'm half tempted to re-do the whole wedding album now!

I'm also hosting one of the challenges at ScrapbookChallenges, coming up later this week. So I've got a little sneak peak for you RRD readers! The challenge is to use this photo as inspiration and choose 5 of its colors for your layout:

I couldn't help but notice that Susan's recent kit, Bountiful Blessings, is very similar in the colors, so I used it for my example layout!

Family Matters pages

Hello there!

Breeoxd here. I've been organizing my digi supplies like a fiend for the past few months- trying to figure out exactly how I scrapbook and what the best system is for me. I've come to the conclusion that I'm mostly a theme scrapper, so I've slowly but surely been moving all of my kits into their properly themed folder.

The one major plus to this huge endeavor (besides scrapping more quickly, that is) is that I'm finding an AMAZING amount of kits and QP's that I had forgotten about. We're talking HUNDREDS. A bit ridiculous, now that I think about it, lol. Anyway, one of those kits that I rediscovered was Susan's Family Matters kit. I know that when I first looked at it, I wasn't as interested in it as some of her others, mostly because my family and I aren't that close. But when I finally started digging in this time, I created 9 layouts with this kit! 9!!! A few of those I actually made into a QP set that I'll show you in my next post, but here are a few of the others:

Two of these are altered QPs that were freebies or on sale with the kit. I love altering Quickpages to suit my own style and needs- so much fun and a great challenge too!

i have used my all time fav the stunning Fight like a girl papers they are so vintage and versatile
i have over stamped on the papers with swirls and tex stamp then added a few rose rub- on's i had
so don't be frighted to print out a sheet of the paper packs and use this to then layer up your other stamping mediums and images
plus a great way to try new techniques

Hi folks, hope your all doing well!

I have two cards for you today, one using Made with Love Paper Kit and one using Thunder in the Cedars Paper Kit......both kits are divine, don't ya think?

First up is Made with Love........I ADORE Reds and Aqua together, my new fave comob!

The image is by Magnolia Stamp, and I have coloured it using Prismacolor Pencils.

Next up is a card made using Thunder in the Cedars

Such fabulous papers and I am in love with plaids :o)

The image is by Wee Stamps, and it has been coloured using Prismacolor Pencils.

All the papers have been re-sized in Photoshop and then printed out on 160g/m Text and Graphic Paper........to be honest, though, they still print out equally as good on normal printer paper. I just using the Text and Graphic paper as it makes the coloured bolder and its thicker.

The air is finally cooling down, here in Texas, and I'm definitely feeling the fall vibe now! The change in seasons calls for a change in signature picture for my forum postings, so I wanted to share this with you guys. It's from a 2009 kit of Susan's, but I just loved the colors in it! First Frost

The last 2 month I did a fantasy style workshop (by MissB) to improve my Photoshop skills. I already knew a lot, but I also learned some very interesting new things! One of the first things we learned is to look in a different way to the backgrounds in a kit. Let's take First Frost by Raspberry Road Designs as an example.

For my background I combined three different papers from the kit to get a whole new scene. So at first I ended up with this:

But I wanted a bit more drama in my layout. I created an extra layer for dodge and burn. But to get the real drama on my layout I copied all my layers and merged the copied layers to one layer. I converted that layer to B&W and instead of normal I used Multiply and lowered the opacity a bit (in this case 79%).
You can also easily add an extra fill layer on top of your layers. But then you have to slide a bit with the settings to get the right result. In the way with the B&W layer I know most of the times the effect is right.

A whole other look, don't you think?

I also made a Halloween card for this year using Haunted Dreams, - chock full of spooky fun elements!

its now coming round to that time of year when there is a nip in the air and the changing colours of the season
to days card has been inspired by this
i have used the simple pleasures kit but i have to say there is nothing simple about this kit it has beautiful colour palette and a stunning aray of patterens ,
and for all the lovely ladies that have e-mailed me for the details and what i use when i print the kits out here you are
i have cropped my papers in photo shop to 6x6 size and then just printed them out on to 160 gsm bright white paper on setting Text and image setting
the image is coloured with distress inks

Maybe not all of you know already, but I'm half Italian. Can you imagine how I jumped up and down for a minute when I saw Fresco Italiano, the newest kit from Raspberry Road Designs in the shop?!

Doesn't that look great! I love all the food in the kit, but the rest is also great!
I decided to make a layout with a recipe from my Italian grandmother. It's all in Dutch, because I don't know all the food related words in English.

Hey guys! Just thought I'd pop in and share a couple of LOs I've made with Susan's beautiful kits this past month. The first is a page I did using my son's first homework assignment sent home from Pre-K. I used the Made With Love kit, which is technically a cooking themed kit, but I just loved that little apple to pieces for a homework page! I did a little cut and paste magic on the green postage stamp frame to get it to the same proportions as his homework page I'd scanned in. The red font is by the lovely Ali Edwards, and the black font is just your standard Century Gothic. This was such a fun fresh kit that I can't wait for the holiday cooking pages I'm sure I'll use it for this year!

This next page is one I started working on the night before the 9/11 anniversary. I found it so surreal to be scrapping such an event and to scrap my thoughts from so long ago, but as I'm sure is true with everyone, that day is still so fresh in my mind... even as I was just a little 19 year old girl in my first year away at college. I took the photo on the mission trip I'd just been on there, in NYC... in the Twin Towers, just two months before they were attacked. Anyway, I used the Barnyard Blowout kit in a rather unconventional way, playing it mostly neutral for a peaceful contemplative feel. I actually even desaturated the red and blue buttons just a bit to keep the monochrome feel with just a small hint of the patriotism the 9/11 anniversary stirs every year.

I also made this into a quickpage for you to share a photo and jot down your 10 year thoughts too.

The image is called Forest Elf and is by Syliva Zet, it is a digi image. I have coloured it using Prismacolor Pencils.

Next up is a card made using Autumn Splendor

I chose the natural papers out of this kit and teamed them up with some lavender embellishments.

The image is another Syliva Zet one called Veritas, this one is an actually rubber stamp, and again, it has been coloured using Prismacolor Pencils.

Fall is on it's way?

Good Morning fellow scrappy peeps!

Bre here! I just wanted to check in with you all and show you a little something I've been working on for awhile. Here in VA people are saying Fall is definitely on it's way, but I'm not too sure about that- it's been pretty darn warm for this Buffalo girl's comfort level! My season dial is still stuck on summer, and if you are anything like me, you're still scrappin' all of those pretty summer pics too!

Unfortunately I'm a snail's pace scrapper, meaning I'm SUPER slow at it, always have been always will be, so it seems I'm always a season, or 5 behind in everything anyway. Maybe you are to?

I decided to finally commit to getting a bunch of camping and hiking pictures done, and what better way to get a bunch scrapped than a super quick Brag Book? And when I was done, I thought it might be something that you'd get some use out of too!

Using Susan's adorable Summer Camp kit, I created a 20 page book, with alternate covers depending on your camping needs. This is great for Scout Camp, summer day camp, a family vacation, hiking, or even just some nature photos! What I love most about the kit was that it had such a wide variety of styles and elements in it- I had no problem creating all of the different pages, and really had to stop myself at 20! all the papers i have resized to 6x6 in photo shop and the clock face embelishment was resized to then coved in glossy accents to make it look like a realy watch face ,

Jeez! It's been one crazzy week here in Virginia. Earthquakes? Really? And now I'm sitting here listening to the beginnings of Miss Irene. Oh well, at least I'm safe at home and getting some really great scrapping time in (until the power does out lol)

Anyways, I wanted to document the craziness of this week, so I searched through my heavily saturated hard drive, but SURPRISE! no earthquake kits. So I had to be a bit creative. This is what I came up with:

Isn't it fun? I was rather proud of myself! The soundwaves were from Tangie Designs newest art caravan pack, but everything else is from Raspberry Road's The Y Chromosome, Urbanites, and CU Maps kits.

Wow, how is it that school is already starting?! I have had a crazy busy summer, so sorry to not post in so long! My son is starting pre-school on Monday, but even more fun is that my 2 year old daughter is starting her first dance class the week after that! She is excited beyond belief. She loves her little tutu and ballet slippers as is obvious by this picture of when she got to put them on for the first time...

So when I saw that word art in the embellishment pack of For the Record that says "here is where my story begins" I just had a super emotional moment thinking about her future. Now, do understand, I was never in dance and even kind of despised "those girls" when I was in middle and high school... but now as a mature adult who's not so worried about the popularity game that goes with it, I am actually kind of excited to experience dance vicariously through her. She is a natural born performer I think. So when I watch shows like So You Think You Can Dance, where the parents of these fabulous dancers are talking about how they knew their kids where performers even as early as 2 years old, I am starting to understand that. I can almost picture her coming back to see this page in 15-20 years and being like "yep, that's where my love of dance started!"

Anyway, I just thought it was fun to be so inspired by an embellishment that I built a whole page around it! It's a beautiful kit to work with!

For the Record - Hybrid Card

Hi all, hope that you are all well today :o)

Today I have a hybrid card to share using the utterly divine For The Record Paper Set

Oh my, when I saw these papers, I thought I had died and gone to heaven, what a gorgeous set....another one to add to my faves LOL.

I have used a Magnolia image, Tilda with a Violin, and coloured her with Prismacolor Pencils.

I resized the papers in photoshop before printing them out, this way it saves on your printer ink. I print my papers out on 160gsm Text and Graphic paper.

I have decorated the inside with more of the yummy papers, to compliment the front. You can see them better in the pictures below.

Oopsie Daisy and Summer Goodness

Hello all! I hope that I find you well today :o)

I have a few hybrid cards to share with you all, apologies for the delay in posting these, but I only just realised that I had not shared them with you all, LOL......I am so forgetful!!!!

Anyway the first one I have to share is made with the gorgeous Oopsie Daisy Paper Kit......

This kit is one of my faves, the colours and patterns are so soft and pretty :o)

I have teamed the papers up with a Teddy Bo and Co digi image - Teddy Bo and Bea Kissing, and I have coloured the image with Prismacolor Pencils.

For the next 2 cards I have used the yummy Summer Goodness papers!

Oh boy oh boy are these papers gorgeous, I love anything to do with Strawberries :o)

Just adore that plaid paper, the colours are divine :o)....

The image is by Magnolia Stamps and has been coloured in using Prismacolor Pencils.

This card is a real tiny one it only measures 4 inches square when closed......all I did was resize the papers in photoshop to the sizes that I need and then printed them out.

Just love the blues, greens and reds together. The image is by Magnolia Stamps and they are from their mini collection. I have masked them together so they appear as one stamp. They have been coloured with Prismacolor Pencils.

Wow- where's the summer gone to?

Hiya Scrappy Peeps!

I was just sitting there and thinking, "wow, where has the time gone?" It's almost August. I repeat- AUGUST! And truth be told I haven't even gotten a smidge of my summer scrapping done. This rather disappoints me, since I usually try to "keep up" during the longer summer days. Anyways, I finally got a bit of my July 4th photos done (from LAST year- shh, don't tell anyone, ok? lol) and I thought they turned out pretty well as quickpages, so I'm exited to offer them for sale in the store:

Aren't they pretty? And the best part is they can be used a bunch of different ways. I scrapped July 4th, an old musical that I was in, and even my amazing brother on his second tour of duty in Afghanistan( love you Chris!!!) See?

Pink Lemonade!

Hi all, hope that your well!

Today I have a hybrid card to share with you all made using the super duper delish Pink Lemonade Papers.

Oh boy oh boy when I first saw this kit I squealed with delight, as I just adore these colours together, so yummy! My fave one is the one with little rosebuds on, so pretty :o).

This style of card is called an Easel Card and is a nice alternative to normal square ones.

The image I have used is by Magnolia and is called Explore Tilda. I have coloured her with Prismacolour Pencils.

I have grouped some close ups of the different embellishments that I have used, along with pictures of the base and secret inside pocket.

The above secret pocket is behind the image, you can just see it poking out in the first picture above.

All the papers have be resized in Photoshop.

Summer Camp

I've just returned from a wonderful two week vacation with about..oh...1000 pictures! :)
We spent part of our trip in the Poconos mountains and had a wonderful time visiting with family, enjoying the lake and sitting around the campfire.

I am absolutely thrilled to see that Susan has created the perfect kit to scrap my memories! Susan, you must have been reading my mind. :) If you haven't seen Summer Camp you should definitely check it out!

I scrapped a page from our vacation tonight, and will try to be back by the end of the week with a cluster frame freebie for you all.

Hello, friends!

Today I would like to share with you a hybrid card that I have made using some papers from the Countrytime Lemonade Collection. I have used papers from the Paper Set and the Add-On Set.

These papers are so fresh and clean and I loved using the colour combo......one that I have never used before, but will deffo be using again :o)

The image that I have used is by Teddy Bo and Co, which is also a digi company, just love pairing RRD papers and Teddy Bo images together when I craft. I have coloured my image with Prisma Pencils.

I have carried the papers through to the inside, just to finish the card off. All the papers have been re-sized in Photoshop, before printing :o).

Family Ties!

Hi all, hope that I find you well!

Today I would like to share with you a card that I have made using the Family Ties Paper Pack

I just adore these papers, the colours are gorgeous and help me satisfy my love for bright colours, but still giving me that vintage feel, that I crave also

The image that I have used is by hAnglar stAnglar. and I have used her using Prisma Pencils.

I have used the papers all the way through the card, and have re-sized them in Photoshop to get the exact sizes that I need for my card. Re-sizing reduces the pattern size too.....it basically gives you all the detail of the 12x12 size but on a smaller scale.
